Pescara Flute Festival: the program for the 2022 edition – Romandie-guide

PESCARA – The Cultural Association “Il Canto del Vento” of Pescara, following the success of previous editions of the Pescara FLUTE Festival (2020 and 2021 at the Aurum of Pescara), under the artistic direction of M° Marco Felicioni, in collaboration with the Municipal Department of Culture of Pescara, with the patronage of the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory of Pescara and the Presidency of the Regional Council of Abruzzo, it has drawn up the program for the next edition of the Flute Festival of Pescara 2022, scheduled around at the “L. D’Annunzio di Pescara” Conservatory on July 29 and 30 and at Aurum – The Ideas Factory on July 31, August 1, 2 and 3, 2022.

“It is a very important event for flautists, but also far beyond the flute – said this morning the chair of the culture committee, Manuela Peschi, who attended the presentation press conference – The first edition, you think, dates back to 2020, so the festival started in a very complicated period and today it really represents a moment of rebirth. We must also congratulate the staff of the Pescara Flute Festival and the artistic director Marco Felicioni for this, that they have been able to continue despite the pandemic and all that comes with it. It is not only a container for concerts, but it has an extraordinary social impact because it also allows people in economic difficulty to access educational activities and expands the skills of young musicians. In addition, the evening concerts will be free for everyone.

The Pescara Flute Festival, entirely dedicated to the oldest musical instrument in history, provides for the participation of the most representative representatives of the national and international flute music scene: professors from Italian conservatories, including those from Pescara , Ferrara, Rome, Lugano (Swiss Italian Conservatory), Latina, Teramo, in addition to the first parts of the most important Italian and foreign orchestras: National Orchestra of Santa Cecilia, Orchestra dell’Opera di Roma, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra of the Petruzzelli Theater of Bari, the Fiati of Parma, as well as researchers, soloists and professors of undisputed renown.

« The third edition of the Pescara Flute Festival doubles its duration – underlined the artistic director Marco Felicioni – three to six days. Internationally renowned artists and concert performers take part, the first voices of the most important Italian and foreign orchestras. In particular, we focused on the winners of the two most important international competitions in honor of Italy and its great musicians”. Of particular note in this edition of the festival is the participation of the winners of the most important international competitions in the world: Mario Bruno and Alberto Navarra, the most important soloists and personalities of international musical education, such as Andrea Oliva, Nicola Mazzanti and Geoff Warren. of 2 flute orchestras (with about 40 elements) made up of students and professionals from all over Italy.

The festival program includes for the first time the performance of operas specially commissioned by the Pescara Flute Festival.

Important conferences organized by the most recognized experts are also planned; Presentations of books, exhibitions of instruments and exhibition of the largest collection of Italian flutes.

There are also “Angelo Persichilli Prize” scholarships offered by the “Il Canto del Vento” association for the most deserving young people, vouchers offered by Vigormusic – Edizioni Musicali and special participations dedicated to students with special family needs are reserved to economic situations.

The artists invited and participating in the 2022 edition of the Pescara Festival have (as in previous editions of the Festival) made themselves available by offering their precious collaboration, with an exceptional artistic and human spirit, for the realization of the event. Their availability becomes more important given the scarcity of available economic resources and therefore contributes to sending a clear signal for the revival of cultural and musical activities in the current and difficult social, historical and artistic period.
