Game News Xbox Game Pass August 2022: Discover the 7 “free” games joining the program, with Ghost Recon!
Xbox today released the list of titles that are and will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog by mid-August. No less than 7 games will become accessible to players, with triple A as well as independent games.
Ghost Recon Wildlands (Available)
Developed by Ubisoft and published in March 2017, Ghost Recon Wildlands transforms the license formula, offering a vast open world to go alone but especially with others. Players embody a Ghost, a member of the American special forces, and must face the Santa Blanca cartel to save Bolivia from collapse. With many weapons, multiple vehicles, varied environments, tactical options of all kinds, and a very mature story, the title had seduced despite its solo redundancy, a sense of deja vu, and a complete lack of cinematic staging.
Shenzhen IO (PC) – August 4
Designed by Zachtronics Industries and released in 2016, SHENZHEN I/O is a simulation-oriented puzzle game in which players have to build circuit boards using multiple electronic components. Inspired by true engineering, the game takes us to the electronics capital of the world in the near future where shortage of semiconductors does not exist.
Turbo Golf Racing (Cloud, PC & Xbox Series) – August 4
What happens if we mix a crazy golf game with Rocket League? The answer will be given on August 9 with Turbo Golf Racing, which will integrate the Game Pass as soon as it is released. Arcade-oriented, the title puts players at commands of small racing cars responsible for pushing their ball to the hole. It is up to the players to use the right techniques to reach the target as quickly as possible, and to return a card under par.
Two Point Campus (Cloud, Console & PC) – August 9
Developed by the creators of Two Point Hospital, themselves from Bullfrog (Theme Hospital), Muckyfoot or even Lionhead (Fable), Two Point Campus will immerse us this time in academia. We will have to build the university, attract students and look after their well-being, develop infrastructures and personalize them, buy equipment, recruit professors and make it the largest university in the world. But Two Point obliges, we will talk about totally wacky courses such as salivary gastronomy or chivalry, but also totally crazy events, and a content destined to greatly expand over the months. The return to the Game Pass is scheduled for August 9, the day the game is released on the various media.
Cooking Simulator (Cloud, Console & PC) – August 11
Take control of a spotless, realistic kitchen, full of utensils and equipment dedicated to creating great meals. More than 80 recipes await players, who can count on a large number of ingredients. Originally released in 2019, the title had been received very differently depending on the tastes and habits of the players. Some have highlighted realistic physics but which can be frustrating or the great freedom left in the preparation of dishes, while others have railed against this same physics and depicts a game that forgets to be fun. In any case, Cooking Simulator arrives on August 11 in the Game Pass, enough to allow subscribers to form their own opinion.
Expeditions: Rome (PC) – August 11
A turn-based strategy game, Expeditions: Rome offers players the role of a young citizen whose father has been assassinated by a political opponent. You leave Rome and go on a campaign to create an army and organize the revolt! Generous in its content, with a pleasant story, a good sense of detail and successful fights, the title only fails in its technique, dated, fairly repetitive battles of conquests and sometimes painful exploration. In other words, lovers of Roman antiquity and strategy enthusiasts should have a good time on this title which, if not perfect, accumulates enough good points to be worth the detour.
Offworld Trading Company (PC) – August 11
Meet on a planet Mars colonized by humans and on which the biggest companies are giving everything to beat the competition and prevail. All the blows are allowed and we find in Offworld Trading Company a complete tutorial, a long campaign, an excellent soundtrack, challenge, marked factions and a new vision of real-time strategy. Behind all these qualities, we find Mohawk Games, and Soren Johnsonlead designer of Civilization IV.
They leave the catalog on August 15
